    The throat chakra is all about purification and expressing your truth through creative means such as art, poetry, music, dance, and speech. It’s also about listening + receiving others’ truth. It’s the connection from the heart to the outside world.

    What does a Balanced Throat look like?

    Articulate, truthful, honest, creative, expressive, communicates from the heart, communicates from intuition, talks kind about the self, listens consciously, sense of contentment

    Common imbalances:

    Fast + Over Active:

    Receiving more than giving, speaking without thinking, gossiping, stuttering, loudness, hyperthyroid, lack of consideration, compulsive behaviors, speaking from the brain

    Slow + Under Active/Depleted:

    Giving more than receiving, “lump” in throat, “ silent child”, fear of speaking, biting your tongue, inability to express one’s truth, lack of creative expression, too precise, over regulated

    How To Balance Your Fifth Chakra

    Use aromatherapy on your body or room, hold + carry crystals with you, use colors in your food, clothes, visualizations, listen to sound healing for vibrational alignment, use your senses to engage active sensations, repeat affirmations and Reiki to bring your fifth chakra back into harmony with your energy system. Here are other associations and helpful practices you can do to bring more awareness + harmony to this chakra:

    • Element: Ether / Space
      Using your own voice is the best medicine. Sing, chant, mantra, Om
    • Sound: Ham + Tone ‘D’ (based on 432 hz)
      Use a singing bowl, tuning forks, your voice or any instrument to send vibrations to balance
    • Sense: Hearing
      Listen to nature: animals, wind, plants. Listen to others without having to step in with your opinion
    • Color: sky/light blue
      Wear blue, eat + cook with blue foods such as spirulina. Meditate under a “blue bird” sky or visualize blue.
    • Location: Center of Throat
    • Mudra: Granithita Mudra
      Interlace your last three fingers (middle, ring, and pinky) together inside of your hands. Interlock the index fingertips and thumbs to form two rings, and hold this mudra in front of the base of your throat.
    • Opens: front + back.
    • Pair: Solar plexus chakra.
    • Yoga Poses: poses that opens + closes throat:

      Lying down, place the stone over your throat + meditate + sing/chant. Or place them in a place you look at often. Hold them in your pocket

      Rub over front of throat + behind ears + down neck. Spray over chest.
    • Affirmations: “I speak” “I listen” “I live an authentic life”
      Repeat several times. especially when you feel in lack.
